Swaging Provides Positive Grip
This cutaway of a metal sleeve swagged onto a
splice shows how metal "flows" into valleys between strands to
positively prevent ends from unlaying when sling is used within its
rated capacity.

unprotected eyes apply only when attachment is made over an object narrower than
the natural width of the eye, and apply for basket hitches only when the D/d
ratio is 20 or greater, where D=Diameter of curvature around which the body of
the sling is bent, and d=nominal diameter of the rope. NOTE: Fiber Core W/R
Deduct 10%.
**Working Load Limit = 20% of break strength unless otherwise noted.
