The efficiency rating of a properly prepared termination for clip sizes 3/16 through 7/8 is 80%; sizes 1" through 1-1/2" is 90%. This rating is based on the catalog breaking strength of the wire rope. If pulley is used in turnback instead of thimble or if Seale construction or similar large outer wire type construction in 6x19 class is used in 1" and up, add 1 additional clip. If a greater number of clips are used than shown in the table, the amount of rope turnback should be increased proportionately. |

These clips are intended for use in making eye termination in right regular lay wire rope. Such an assembly is for non-critical light duty use where a small applied load is expected such as hand rails, fencing, guard lines, etc. For this reason an efficiency of the termination is not stated. If a greater number of clips are used than shown in the table, the amount of rope turnback should be increased proportionately. |
